Cased, near mint percussion pepperbox revolver
An English percussion pepperbox revolver circa 1840 in its original mahogany case with full set of accessories. The revolver in near mint, possilby un-fired condition. Retaining virtually all of its original case hardening throughout. Fnely checkered wooden grips. 3 inch six shot barrel group. Revolver 8.5 inch overall. Green baize lined case with a lidded compartment. Powder flask with peacock blue release spring. Original lacquer to the copper body. 96 bore bullet mould. Capped cleaning rod with a ball remover, and a jag. Colt style screw driver / nipple key. With the key for the case slightlyfaulty, the key works the lock, but not with the lid down, most probably some minor age-related wood expansion. The case externals are 260 by 177 by 58 mm.
